Forum e-mails
The Forum generally sends out two e-mail messages each week.
The first, a short message generally on Sunday nights, announces Tuesday's speaker.
The second is sent sometime after the Forum and summarizes announcements made during the Forum or sent in by e-mail.
To receive these messages, submit the information below. You will receive a confirmation message at your e-mail address. If you do not respond to the confirmation, your address will not become part of the list.
You may also sign up when visiting the Forum.
We do not
share these addresses with other groups.
Role of announcements
at the Tuesday Forum
For Forum co-founder Sarah Stevenson, Announcement Time is nice – but not the main event.
She provoked a bit of laughter (nervous laughter?) on Oct. 2, 2012 when she dressed down participants who leave the Forum immediately after making an announcement. Listen here:
The context:
For decades, time has been set aside for Forum participants to share information about community events. Announcement Time was at the end of the meeting.
As opening time grew later in the morning, it became more common for participants to leave for work before the Forum's end. To allow all to hear the announcements, facilitators occasionally would call for announcements midway through the Forum.
The announcements archive
For historical research purposes, announcement summaries have been collected on pages on this site by the year and month of their original publication. For the months missing from the lists below, either no record was made of the announcements, or the original e-mail text has not been located.
The delay between the announcements made on the floor of the Forum and the publication of the announcements by e-mail and online here means that some events announced on Tuesdays have already occurred by the time of the e-mails. In general, those announcements are NOT included in the e-mails to prevent confusion, and are not archived on these pages. There are exceptions, of course. Life is like that!
